Gyeonggi sorikkun (traditional Korean vocalist) Lee Hee-moon and jazz pianist Ko Hee-an launched the ego project, focusing on the improvisational nature of their respective genres. The project aims to break down the boundaries between genres by exploring improvisation that is deeply rooted in each artist's emotional expression, translating this into a diverse range of musical performances. In this project, traditional Korean folk songs and japga from the Gyeonggi and Seodo regions are reinterpreted through the language of jazz, experimenting with improvisation. Lee Hee-moon Company’s Gyeonggi Jazz Project<Korean Men (2016)> has seen these two artists collaborate on stage over the years, showcasing their dynamic synergy.
